Designated Youth Areas Policy

APPROVED: BOS

Date: 03/07/2011

Section: 1206

Mohave County Libraries welcome patrons of all ages, abilities, and interests.

In order to provide a safe, nurturing environment which meets the special needs of children and teens, certain areas of the library have been designated as Youth Areas.

Designated Youth Areas will be clearly identified using signage and by other means.

Children, teens, and their parents are encouraged to enjoy these unique areas of the library, though they are not restricted to using only these areas.

Adults without children and Young Adults over the age of 18 will be asked to use other areas of the library.

Adults having a valid reason to be in the Designated Youth Areas, such as teachers looking for materials, individuals doing research in children’s literature, tutors, scout leaders, adults with special needs, etc., will be allowed to remain as determined by the library staff. All others will be asked to leave the Designated Youth Areas.
