How to Get Your Library Card
Check Your Eligibility
Library cards are available free of charge to residents of Mohave County and residents of nearby communities.
Gather Required Documents
You'll need to bring: A valid government-issued photo ID Documentation to verify your local mailing address, such as: A current utility bill Recent postmarked mail showing your name and address An imprinted personalized bank check A recent rent receipt or business receipt showing your name and address A post office box is acceptable as a mailing address if accompanied by a local physical address
Apply In Person or Online
Visit any of our library branches during open hours to apply in person. You can also start the application process online and pick up your card later. To receive your card you must visit any branch in person.
Start Using Your Card!
Once you receive your card, you can immediately access all library resources. Your card must be renewed annually.
Using and Managing Your Card
You may check out up to 25 items at a time.
14 DVDs max (7-day loan)
3 video games max (7-day loan)
Remaining items can include books, audiobooks, etc. (21-day loan)
Items can be checked out or returned at any branch in the Mohave County Library system.
Books & most items: 21 days
DVDs & video games: 7 days
Bookmobile items: 28 days (may be extended depending on service schedule)
Interlibrary Loans (ILL): Loan periods set by the lending library
Most items can be renewed up to 2 times unless:
The item is on hold for another patron
The renewal limit has been reached
Your account is not in good standing
Automatic renewals occur on the due date (if eligible)
Renew online, by phone, or in person

All fines must be paid, and contact info must be up to date to renew
Report lost or stolen cards to the library immediately
You are responsible for all items checked out on your card

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a library card without a physical address?
You can use a P.O. Box as your mailing address, but you must also provide a local physical address to verify eligibility.
What if I haven’t verified my address yet?
You can get a Restricted Card that’s valid for 30 days and cannot be renewed. It allows limited access but does not allow borrowing materials.
Do library cards expire?
Yes. All cards expire annually and must be renewed by confirming your contact information and paying any outstanding fines or fees.
Can I renew my library card without visiting the library?
Yes. You can renew by phone, email, or in person, as long as your account is in good standing.
What if I lose my card?
Lost cards should be reported immediately to avoid unauthorized use. A replacement card costs $2.00.
What’s my PIN number and how do I reset it?
Your PIN is assigned when you receive your card and is used to access online services. If you forget it, you can reset it online or contact the library for assistance.
Can an organization get a library card?
Yes. Institutional Cards are available for eligible facilities like schools or care centers. The director must apply and accept responsibility for borrowed materials.
